Description

Provide Benefits & Pension direction, manage projects, provide compensation analysis, and support the North American Business Human Resources team in providing business partnership and customer service.

Benefits
·          Provide the data to consultant for the renewal of our contract with our service provider, calculate the amount of coverage and the cost per employee
·          Meet with vendors regarding compilation of data and the renewal of our contract
·          Communicate to employees changes in coverage and changes in prices
·          Submit claims for reimbursement on life insurance and long term disability claims
·          Terminate employee benefits when applicable
·         Maternity leave:  top up plan, track employee’s leave
·         Maintain Service Award program for North America

 Compensation
·          Actively participate and lead in Hay Panel job evaluation
·          Organize and maintain job grade levels for Canadian operations
·         Communicate appropriate information to management team

 Pension
·          Provide enrollment and explanation of the plan Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and RRSP
·          Sitting Member of the Pension Plan Committee
·          Sitting member of North American Investment and Benefits Committees
·          Responsible to collect data for the annual pension audit
·          Communicate any changes in funds and policies to employees
·          Assist in the preparation of pension calculation
·          Provide data to Actuary for annual statements, international pension plan
·          Responsible for submitting information to payroll once the person terminates
·          Track change in beneficiaries
 
Terminations
·          Provide information on benefits, severance packages and assistance to terminated employees
·          Communicate to Payroll how the terminated employee is to be paid according to Retiring Allowance Act and employee’s selected options.
·         Follow-up on employee’s end of redundancy coverage and transfer him to retiree benefits if applicable
 
Human Resources Support
·          Work with HR Manager on project management for special assignments
·          Provide input on constant improvement of HR business partnership with the business

                                        
 
Position Requirements

Skills:

Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office and SAP financials is helpful.

Good knowledge of payroll administration, pension rules and regulations, benefits rules and regulations by province.
 
Education and Experience:
5 years experience in Human Resources
Relevant post secondary education
Very good knowledge of Canadian benefits and Canadian law.
 

Must be bi-lingual  - (French & English)

 
Salary/Benefits
Full benefits packagae available. Pay based on experience.
