College Connection requires a part-time Education Facilitator to work 17 hours a week until June 2008.  There may be a possibility of additional work hours in May and June 2008

College Connection is an inclusive education service at Grant MacEwan College that supports students with developmental disabilities to be fully included in programs of study and college life.

Responsibilities

• Support and facilitate student's meaningful participation in class, involvement in group work, and interaction with classmates

• Support student access to college facilities including the Learning Resource Centre,   the Centre for Sport and Wellness, etc.

• Support student's personal care and wellbeing

• Facilitate the development of natural peer connections and support

• Public education and liaison with college staff and students as well as employers

Requirements
Qualifications

• Experience with Inclusive Post-Secondary Education and/or community development and inclusion

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities

• An understanding of Social Role Valorization and it's implementation 

• A Rehabilitation Practitioner diploma would be an asset
