We are assisting our client, a large business service provider located across the harbour from Halifax, in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, with the recruitment of a Trust Accounting Team Leader.

As the newly added Trust Accounting Team Leader, you will lead and train a group of six associates, with a strong focus on the professional development of each. The responsibilities of the Trust Accounting Team Leader will include reviewing daily trust reconciliation and daily cash forecasting for all branches within the company. You will prepare and/or review all weekly, monthly, and ad hoc management reports for the trust accounting department, and ensure that monthly reporting deadlines are met. You will also have the responsibility of drafting, documenting, and communicating all policies and procedures for the department. By examining current reconciliation and business processes, you will ensure compliance with CICA 5900 and SOX. You will be working in a modern, fast paced environment.

Position Requirements
The individual to move forward for consideration for the role of Trust Accounting Team Leader will be a designated accounting professional (CA, CGA or CMA) with 5+ years of experience in an accounting environment, 2+ years of which were spent in a supervisory role. Prior exposure to internal control systems within a large organization is ideal, along with knowledge of CICA 5900 and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). Ideally, the individual will have had experience working with an ERP system. A background from the banking industry would be considered an asset. Potential candidates from other areas of Canada may be eligible for relocation assistance!
 
Salary/Benefits
$38,000.00 to $50,000.00 CDN. Relocation assistance negotiable for candidates living outside of the province of Nova Scotia.
