DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Administration:

  • Writes proposals to secure present and new funding

  • prepares budgets for Core program and service programs yearly funding, with assistance from Finance Manager.

  • Ensures monthly, quarterly, annual and project reports are complete, accurate and submitted to the Board, appropriate agencies and individuals within deadlines.

  • Ensures statistical and financial reports are provided as required

  • Inform board of changes affecting programs

  • Ensure agency objectives are being met.

  • Responsible for implementing and overseeing new and existing initiatives as directed by the Board.

  • Works with internal / external committees in developing, implementing and monitoring programs and services.

  • Personnel:

  • Participates in the appointment and termination of staff unitizing accepted policies and procedures.

  • Provides staff with orientation of organization’s policies, Procedures, goals, benefits, and obligations.

  • Oversees staff activities to ensure our organization and funding agency goals are met.

  • Provides or organizes staff training necessary to successful meet the organization and agency goals.

  • Annually evaluates staff job performances to ensure client needs, organization needs and agency needs are met.

  • Provides staff and Board with information concerning programs, services and or policies.

  • Acts as the communication link between staff and Board.

  • Community Relations:
  • Provides relevant information about our programs , services to community agencies

  • Represents the organizations in negotiations or official functions

  • Keep informed of government and non-government programs and funding initiatives that the organization could access.

  • Other duties:

  • Carry out other administrative and organizational tasks as required.



  • Requirements

     

  • Grade 12 plus post secondary training in related field i.e.: administration, management.

  • Additional training in personnel, financial management, community development, economic development.

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of Aboriginal Culture

  • An understanding of Aboriginal organizations, Aboriginal Government, municipal and federal government departments.

  • Must have knowledge of community development concepts, development plans and identifying needs, developing strategies, implementing plans.

  • Must have knowledge of managing human resources.

  • Knowledge of computers and software programs is necessary

  • Must have demonstrated ability to organize and plan his/her work schedule.

  • Must have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexible work schedule

  • WORK EXPERIENCE

     

  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years directly related experience is necessary
