RESPONSIBILITIES: · Promote the EDGE direction and function within a Self Directed Work Team environment Ensure the department has a philosophy to be service department to the operation team and other departments. Maintain constructive relationships with internal customers and suppliersTake a lead role in preparation of annual Business Plan and Re-forecasts.Review quarter end schedules and submit to Corporate.ENSURE DIVISION BALANCE SHEET REPRESENTS THE TRUE FINANICAL CONDITION OF THE DIVISION.Ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled and have supporting schedules as back-up.Maintain Accounts Receivable at acceptable levels of aging & with minimum of bad debt.Report monthly & quarterly, and yearly results accurately and on time - in accordance with timetable established by Tesma Corporate. Review financial results with GM and AGMs, answer questions and explain variances. Assist GM with quarterly reviews by Transmission division VP Prepare (with assistance of staff) annual Audit File for independent public auditors an answer questions concerning the data contained therein. Establish procedures and policies to safeguard company assets (Cash, AR, Assets) Ensure accounts payable are paid within established guidelines and within terms agreed with suppliers. Respond to Internal Audit recommendations and take actions on agreed points. Monitor US$ cash requirements - -report US$ requirements to corporate for participation in the Hedging program, and manage FX exposure on fixed assets through the purchase of FX forwards contracts where required and appropriate. Ensure physical inventory counts are accurate & complete. Ensure Accounting & IT staff are trained and competent.

Position Requirements
|
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA)Must have experience with cost system development, inventory valuation, business planning and account analysis. Must have experience with an integrated ERP systemMust have experience with the independent public audit and internal audit processes.· Must have experience in financial statement analysis Must have minimum 5 years experience in a position of increasing responsibility· Must have excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills and possess a keen ability to resolve conflicts and is a catalyst for change Must be able to function and lead well in a team environmentMust have accounting and budgetary skills Knowledge of QS-9000 and/or TS 16949, ISO 14001, and safety standards and procedures The ability to work in a less traditional work setting. Having the skills to manage the change to an empowered workforce, an assetWilling to take responsibility for their work and respond to Company needs, i.e. work extra time as required to meet deadlines and be quickly mobile in order to respond to customer needs |
