The job requires excellent computer science and programming fundamentals, the ability to appreciate and create abstraction, a strong problem-solving facility, and the desire to work closely within a team. It also demands sharing responsibility for the success of a large, long-lived system, both short and long-term. The successful applicant will, among other things, add new feeds and enrich data content while enhancing the database infrastructure, in order to create a higher performance and more capable system.
Requirements
The candidate must be very skilled with C++ (or C) in UNIX and have experience with at least one other programming language. Knowledge of object-oriented and multi-threaded programming is required, as well as the desire and ability to learn systems programming. Experience with systems programming, database programming, object-oriented design, and market data modeling/handling are pluses.
