Our Finance & Accounting team is seeking a Controller to administer and oversee financial and accounting systems, policies and procedures in order to support all of Evergreen’s operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will:

-Administer and monitor financial control, reporting and accounting policies, procedures and processes.
-Ensure that Evergreen’s finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
-Facilitate excellent management decision-making through internal reporting that includes appropriate allocations for shared costs and services.
-Supervise staff in the areas of accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and employee benefits.
-Coordinate the annual financial audit.
-Administer and monitor financial risk management plans and insurance coverage, review service contracts for financial exposure and risk.
-Assist in budget preparation, long-range financial planning and analysis, and developing accounting and financial systems as needed for new areas of financial activity, including Evergreen Brick Works.

You have/are:
-A minimum of four years of related experience, including: at least two years supervisory experience, and at least two years employed by a Canadian registered charity.
-An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
-An accounting designation such as CA, CGA (strongly preferred).
-Well-developed analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
-Able to adjust quickly to changing work environments. Accounting experience in retail and/or property management business (not essential, but preferred).
-Well-developed literacy in computer applications such as MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Accpac preferred).
