Our client is a leading Canadian-based international financial services company currently actively looking for an Intermediate Financial Analyst. As a member of the Finance team in Montreal, the Intermediate Financial Analyst will work to improve account reconciliation processes and financial controls, develop and maintain internal reports and Microsoft Office-based applications.
Success in this role is measured based upon overall ability to effectively represent the interests and mandate of the organization, support day-to-day operations, complete business initiatives and deliver results.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain account reconciliation and financial control processes.
• Develop, validate and maintain effective controls by creating reports in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access.
• Support production of monthly accounting reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain database applications in Access 2003.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and develop one-off reports using MS Access and Excel.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiencies and internal controls.
• Develop business process documentation.
Requirements:
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or related area of study.
• 2-3 years relevant experience, preferably in the Finance sector.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Access skills including VBA programming.
• Analytical and critical thinking, ability and desire to learn and resolve business and technical issues.
• Ability to work independently and proactively to complete multiple projects and assignments.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Asset: Completed or pursuing accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA).
• Overtime may be required during peak demands at monthly and quarterly intervals.
