SARDA (Smoky Applied Research & Demonstration Association) is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join their team. This employment opportunity is a full time position with a competitive salary. SARDA is located in Falher in the beautiful Peace Region of Alberta.
Qualifications
1. Degree/Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
2. Class 5 Drivers License
3. Strong practical background in Agriculture, specifically crop production, possibly in the areas of cereal & oilseed, forage seed & fibre, pest management, special crops, and / or adding value to agriculture.
The following skills would be an asset.
1. Comfortable with operation & maintenance of equipment, loading & pulling equipment on trailers.
2. Computer Knowledge
3. Financial, Managerial and Program Manager skills
4. Communication & Presentation skills
5. accounting skills
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- organizing and establishing research plots
- operation and maintenance of equipment
- applying for project and operating funding
- Networking and communicating with governments, funders, partners and producers
- reporting research results – through extension, reports, articles, and presentations
- Meeting and workshop organization
- budgeting and bookkeeping
