In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to solve all technical objections during the sales process. The Technical Consultant is a pre-sales position with some post sales activities. Presales activities include product presentation, deployment design, demonstration management, and technical solutions. There will also be the need to nurture Reseller Relationships including VAR training, initial VAR technical support, and ongoing product training. Post sales duties include maintaining technical relationships with current prospects and customers. This will include customer visits along with limited customer install support

Protocol knowledge including but not limited to: HTTP/S, FTP, RTSP, MMS, DNS, SOCKS, IM, LDAP, RADIUS, and NTLM.
Operating Systems Knowledge should include the Unix & Windows operating systems.
Advanced experience using telecommunications and data networking test equipment such as Ethereal and/or SnifferPro
Advanced TCP/IP skills including routing technologies, Layer-4 technologies, WCCP & Highly available/Fault tolerant design, NAT, DHCP are required
Strong technical troubleshooting ability
Working knowledge of Internet Services, e.g. Web Services, Media Servers, Proxy Services, Browser and Media Player operations.
Ability to conduct scientific analysis of facts, information gathering, and create test plans
